Terms & Conditions - Membership Contract
Minimum membership term1. The minimum membership term is either three full calendar months or twelve full calendar months depending on the membership option chosen at sign up. Members joining partway through a month are not able to cancel until the end of the calendar month following their three or twelve month anniversary with us.
2. Cancellation before the end of the appropriate minimum membership period by prior agreement with us may be possible on payment of a £50 (Three month contract) or £100 (Twelve month contract) early cancellation fee.
3. In case of injury early cancellation without penalty will be permitted on production of a suitable medical certificate.
4. Under the direct debit guarantee scheme you are entitled to cancel a direct debit at any time by contacting your bank. If you cancel your direct debit in this manner within your minimum membership period without making alternative arrangements for payment your details may be passed to a credit collection agency which will pursue you for payment of the remaining minimum fees. This may result in your credit rating being affected.
Cancellation and suspension
5. Once the minimum membership period is up you may cancel your membership at any time by giving thirty working days notice before the end of any calendar month. You are responsible for ensuring that we have received your written notice.
Alba Military Fitness reserve the right to cancel classes due to public health and safety. This will only be done in extreme circumstances.
Medical conditions: If you have a medical condition which prevents you from training temporarily, you may suspend your membership within your minimum term. Outside your minimum term we permit extended suspension periods for medical conditions. Medical suspension periods can be a maximum of twelve months. We will require proof of your medical condition (such as a doctor’s certificate). We will suspend your membership upon receipt of doctor's certificate or other proof. Any membership time paid but not used after this point will be credited back to you in training time upon your return.
Payment terms
6. Membership payments are collected by direct debit on the first working day of each month.
7. If you join mid-month you will be charged a pro-rata amount based on the number of days left to run in that month. Payment will be taken within ten days of your direct debit being successfully set up by your bank.
8. Payments that are refused by the bank on the grounds of insufficient funds will be recalled within seven days unless payment is made by an alternative method. Continued failure to pay will incur a £20 admin fees and an additional £50 fee if refered to a collection agency.
9. We review our membership fees from time to time. We will give at least one calendar month's written notice of any change.
Refund policy
10. Membership refunds are not given other than in case of error on our part.
11. If you are injured and unable to train please contact us immediately; we will be able to put your membership on hold and credit you with unused paid membership time on your return. Please note that under no circumstances will such arrangements be backdated and a suitable medical certificate MUST be produced.
12. Members must be 16 years or over
13. We currently permit members to attend classes at any ALBA MILITARY FITNESS venue.
14. Class times are as published on this website and if circumstances cause any permanent change to these times we will provide thirty days notice of these new times.
15. Occasionally class times will have to be altered / cancelled due to circumstances outwith our control.
Our right to cancel your membership
We will cancel your membership immediately if you:
- Break these terms and conditions
- Put the health, safety or wellbeing of other members or our employees at risk
- Allow other people to use your membership to attend classes
- Engage in disruptive or violent behaviour
We may change these terms and conditions. We will give you at least 30 days notice to inform you of any significant changes that may affect your membership and also publish the updated terms and conditions on our website
